BENSALEM TOWNSHIP, PA —The colleges superintendent has responded to the petition to carry a remedy canine again to a township elementary college., saying the visits open up a “myriad of issues.”
Samuel Lee, superintendent of the Bensalem Township College District, mentioned that skilled remedy canines and their licensed handlers have typically come to varsities for brief visits on a scheduled periodic foundation.
However these visits are “very completely different from the state of affairs” that the petition presents, Lee mentioned.
Greater than 1,200 mother and father signed a petition for Phantom to return to Belmont Hills Elementary College, CBS Philadelphia reported.
Lee mentioned that petition requests having the remedy canine at school for a whole day with no partnered insured handler. He mentioned that goes towards college legal responsibility insurance policies.
“That scenario presents a myriad of issues, together with allergic reactions of some college students, potential animal aggression, sanitation, or adversarial bodily and or emotional response by both college students or adults,” Lee mentioned in a press release to Patch. “The protection and well-being of all of our college students and employees stays a high precedence.”
